An invention refers to technical solutions related to a product or method in any field. An invention is considered new if it does not repeat a part of existing knowledge. There are the following types of inventions:
- device,
- method (the process of performing a task on a material object with the help of physical means),
- substance,
- microorganism strains,
- plant or animal cell cultures.
The patent for an invention remains valid for 20 years.
A patent contains exclusive rights granted to an invention that allows the execution of a product or method in a new way or offers a new technical solution to a problem.
The patent owner can generally prohibit others from making, using, offering for sale, exporting, or selling the invention without their consent within the jurisdiction where the patent is in force.

- answering expert examination queries;
- obtaining patents for inventions;
- maintaining and extending the validity of patents;
- submitting PCT international claim documents;
